How to add or edit a site

Open Add Site from the site list, or Edit from a site's row menu. The page is in two halves: Basic Information and Address Details.

Basic Information

  1. Choose the Company Name and Site Group. If the group does not exist yet, click the + next to it to add one without leaving the page.

  2. Enter a unique Site Name — this is how the site is identified everywhere else in BRS.

  3. For a new site, pick a Folder Structure to create the standard document folders. Optionally add the UPRN (UK Unique Property Reference Number).

  4. Use Special Instructions for access requirements, security details or site-specific procedures — this text is shown to engineers on the visit.

Address Details

  1. Fill in the address. When you leave a field, BRS looks up the map position and drops a pin.

  2. If the pin is slightly off, drag it to the right spot — the latitude / longitude update to match. You can also type the coordinates in.

  3. Click Save Changes. A new site returns you to the site list.

“L8MS Management Database Upload”

The yellow file box at the bottom is only for a one-off migration from the old L8MS Management system, using an .mdb / .accdb file supplied for that purpose. Leave it empty for a normal site. Uploading the wrong file can lose data.
